Called Google's excellent tech support and they seemed to think it's the lack of DHCP. The receiver is being assigned a valid IP. Likewise, my devices see the chromecast and can initiate a cast, but nothing happens on the receiver. DHCP-less setup? : Chromecast The chromecast connects to my wifi fine but can't connect to the internet.
